Rebranding an Online Thrifting Experience

Rebranding an Online Thrifting Experience

"Retale" is a branding project revisiting and reimagining one of my earlier works.

Project Brief

Create a brand of our choice, and develop a brand guide to define the brand's look, feel, and tone. Chosen topic was an online thrift store targeting the younger generation.

My Role

Entire project design process, primarily brand strategy development and graphic design.

Project Time

7 Weeks

Brief Context

Before diving into the project, I'd like to first explain the context around the task.

This design is a reimagining of one of my earlier projects as a designer: Retell, an online thrift store.

While the requirements for the two projects were different, one being web design, the other branding, I wished to revisit an older concept of mine and see how I would approach the topic differently.

I hope this rework can showcase and reflect some of my versatility and growth as a designer.

Conclusion

Building on the foundation of "Retell," I’ve since refined the project's visual language and aesthetic, introducing a softer pastel palette to better resonate with the teenage audience that "Retale" targets, overall creating a cohesive design.

Though it was not a component of the project, if I had the time I would be interested in redesigning the web design project with the new design language of Retale, and compare the two to see how I've developed.

Lastly, as this was mostly a production based project, I didn't heavily collaborate with stakeholders to develop my design, something I feel could have pushed it further.

If there was more time…

  • Conduct user testing to collaboratively design for functionality, usability, and atmosphere

  • Iterate on the design based on user feedback to better align with real-world expectations and preferences

  • Develop a full web design and user flow for Retale to help complete the project.

Let's work together!
